Day 2 - Reykjavík

Today was a day of leisure. After sleeping in until almost 8 and breakfast at the hotel, Mom, Tara and I headed out to the famous Blue Lagoon hot springs. Once out of town, the 40 minute bus ride to the Lagoon was mostly volcanic landscape of lava rocks and moss. It might as well have been a lush moon as to compare even to our desert landscape in Vegas.

The Lagoon was a relaxing 100 degrees. Hot, but not too hot. We floated around the Lagoon, enjoying a drink and two face masks along with some time in a steam room. We stayed for lunch and a quick dip before leaving.

We headed back to the hotel, picked up Dad and our luggage, and then took a taxi to our cruise ship. The ship is very small by the usual Caribbean standards, every room has a window. I’m lucky enough to get a bunk bed, which actually leaves a lovely amount of space in a tiny room for three.

We practiced our muster at 7, and started dinner at 8 and pulled away from the dock while dining with a nice Swiss couple.

They started a lecture on activities, etc at 9:15, but I’m heading to bed. It’s still light out but it’s late.
